It started with a question:why do some rooms feel right?
About Spaces was founded in Machakos on a simple observation: the spaces we inhabit shape how we live, work, interact, relax and experience everyday life. A well-designed room changes behaviour; a poorly designed one quietly drains it.
Today we are a multidisciplinary studio of interior architects, designers, visualizers and delivery leads working across Kenya and East Africa — residential, commercial and hospitality. Our work differs in scale and sector; our approach never does. We begin with the space itself: its light, its movement, its possibilities.
The result is interiors that are beautiful, functional and distinctly personal — spaces that say something about the people in them.

The Workshop
Custom joinery and furniture are prototyped with trusted local artisans — mvule, cedar and rattan shaped to the millimetre before they ever reach site.
The Material Library
Samples of soapstone, coral stone, sisal, brass and kitenge live in the studio, so every palette is judged by hand and by daylight — never by screen alone.
The Visualization Lab
Every project is walked before it is built — photoreal renders and walkthroughs let clients approve light, texture and proportion with total confidence.

Every project begins as a drawing.
Before a single material is chosen, we study the plan — walls, movement, light and the life that will move through it. Only when the drawing breathes do we begin to build.
